Ingredients:
Bread
Egg
Seems pretty simple. The optional ingredients, depending on your preference (or food availability):
Cheese
Condiments
Meat (turkey, sausage, bacon, ham...)
Veggies
This is how we do it at my house:
- Put 2 slices of bread in the toaster
- Start to make two eggs on the griddle (or pan) and break the yolks up
- Retrieve the toasted bread from said toaster, and put mayo on it (sometimes I like ketchup on it instead)
- Flip the eggs
- Sprinkle some salt and pepper on the eggs
- Add cheese, and let cheese melt
- Put the eggs on the bread
- Eat
(Makes one egg sandwich)
Obviously there are many other ways to create the egg sandwich. So ditch the cereal bowl and fire up the griddle!
Did you know that Grandpa Joe always made egg sandwiches for my mom after her basketball games? So every time I eat an egg sandwich, I think of Grandpa Joe--so a very timely blog post as he transitions away from this earth!
ReplyDeleteI like that you included a little stale humor into this! These are awesome though, probably the easiest - but best - late night snack ever.
ReplyDeleteEgg sandwiches are always a good, easy-to-make choice. I like the steps you put with your posts. They are very easy to follow and could be turned in to your own cook book someday I'm sure! It's a great alternative to cereal that is just as easy to fix.
ReplyDeleteThis is my favorite comfort food just before bed. I like to cook the egg with parmesean cheese. It fries to it so deliciously.
